Hades

God Of The Underworld

Name: Hades

Appearance:  He is lean muscular, blonde, very intelligent and conniving. He is roughly 6' tall. He wears the elite clothing and could blend in with any businessman though he prefers all black clothing. If it was the 20th century he would wear an all black suit with black shades.

Personality: He is greedy in regards to his denizens in the Underworld, he uses the other gods wars to his advantage.  He is cold and calculating when it comes to planning and execution of said plans.

Background: He is the son of Cronus and Rhea, younger brother to Zeus, and Poseidon. He ruled the underworld together with Persephone, whom he abducted from the upperworld. Zeus ordered him to release Persephone back into the care of her mother Demeter, but before she left he gave her a pomegranate. When she ate it, it bound her to the underworld forever!

His Domain the Underworld is surrounded by: The Acheron (river of woe), The Cocytus (river of lamentation), The Phlegethon (river of fire), The Styx (river of unbreakable oath by which the gods swear), and The Lethe (river of forgetfulness).

Hades sits on a throne made of ebony, and carries a scepter. He also has a helmet, given to him by the Cyclopes, which makes him invisible.

Hades rules the dead, assisted by various (demonic) helpers, such as Thanatos and Hypnos, the ferryman Charon, and the hound Cerberus. Many heroes from Greek mythology have descended into the underworld, either to question the shades or trying to free them. Although Hades does not allow his subjects to leave his domain, on several occasions he has granted permission, such as the time Orpheus requested the return of his beloved Eurydice.

Hades possesses the riches of the earth, and is referred to as 'the Rich One'.

Once someone enters his domain they may not leave unless he allows. (save gods or demigods)

Powers: Invisibility with his helmet, ability to transform , power over death and life, can create monsters.

Favorite City: Wherever the most dead are that day.
